Moreover, IT sector’s carbon footprint is expected to triple during the period from 2002 to 2020. On the other hand, IT can also play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions. As per Global e-Sustainability Initiative, IT enabled solutions can reduce annual CO2 emissions by 15% from business-as-usual projections for 2020.
