DESCRIPTION
The Operational Risk Breakfast Club provides the opportunity for senior investment management professionals to mix informally and gain advantages by gathering insights and information regarding key developments in the industry. The meetings are held by Kinetic Partners and Foley Hoag on a quarterly basis.
The third of these quarterly meetings will include a discussion on three topics. First will be a discussion of the SEC's new custody rules, which become effective in February 2010, and the impact of these new rules on investment advisers. That will be followed by a discussion of what investment advisers can expect to see as focal points of SEC examinations in 2010. Lastly, as a follow-up to the discussion at the last meeting on the hedge fund regulatory initiatives currently pending in the European Union, there will be a brief discussion of what is involved for a US investment adviser to open a UK office, which may become necessary if a US manager wants to be able to market in the EU.
