According to the "Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity," a leading indicator of new business creation in the United States, 0.34 percent of American adults created a business per month in 2010, or 565,000 new businesses - a rate that represents the highest level of entrepreneurship in 15 years. A report from the foundation states that lack of other options may have driven people to start new businesses.
This seminar is for entrepreneurs looking to start a company and/or funding. At the event we will discuss how to set-up a legal organizational structure, understand terms sheets, learn about the angel funding landscape, what angels look for, pre-money valuations, and other practical tips that could help new entrepreneurs avoid costly mistakes. Refreshments will be served.

Abhishek Jain is the Chairman of TiE Angels and the Vice President of The Blackstone Group. As part of the investment team, Abhishek helps manage over $1.5 billion in India-focused investments. Prior to Blackstone, Abhishek has worked at Bain & Company and Goldman Sachs. Abhishek received his Bachelors degree from USC and his MBA from Harvard.
