Foley Hoag LLP Appoints Tom Block as Chief Operating Officer

Today, Foley Hoag LLP, a business law firm of more than 250 attorneys with offices in Boston and Washington, announced that Tom Block has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer. Block was promoted from his position as Executive Director.
Block is a longtime business services professional with a strong talent for optimizing the relationship between a company's revenue stream and its cost structure, in order to maximize profitability. Since joining the firm in 2003, he has worked closely with Foley Hoag's Managing Partners in the day-to-day operations, strategic planning and financial management of the firm.

Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Block was President and COO of IllusionFusion!, a $25 million late-stage digital media company where he managed the day-to-day operations as it related to the development, deployment and execution of the company's various product lines and accompanying resources.
Block joined IllusionFusion! from Ingalls, Quinn and Johnson, one of New England's largest full-service communications agencies, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Ingalls, Block was a Senior Consultant at Bain & Company.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a Ph.D. student at the University of Chicago, Block has served on a number of both private and public boards. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Animation Technologies Inc. and on the advisory board of ISM Strategic Marketing Inc.
