Foley Hoag Names Three New Partners

Foley Hoag LLP is pleased to announce three lawyers were recently promoted to Partner.
Gil Arie is a corporate and business lawyer, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and emerging businesses. Gil has extensive experience representing public and private buyers and sellers in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and business reorganizations. He also advises startup founders and investors on entity formation, and corporate governance and management. Much of Gil’s work with emerging companies, as well as with established public and private companies, focuses on equity and debt financing transactions, and on general corporate and business matters. He has significant international experience, assisting early-stage and mature foreign companies operating in the U.S. to structure, form and conduct business operations and assisting U.S. companies to structure, form and conduct business operations abroad. Before joining Foley Hoag, Gil practiced for a number of years with one of the largest business and corporate law firms in Israel. He received an LL.B. from Tel Aviv University Faculty of Law and an LL.M. from Cornell Law School, and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and Israel.
Robert Fisher focuses his practice on representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including union disputes, discrimination/harassment claims, benefits issues, and contractual disputes. He has extensive experience in ERISA litigation, including claims under the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act. He frequently represents employers in wage and hour lawsuits, including those brought as putative class actions. In addition, Robert represents both plaintiffs and defendants in non-compete litigation, including cases involving requests for injunctive relief. Robert regularly practices before state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. He graduated magna cum laude from Cornell Law School and received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
Larry Martin has an extensive litigation practice that has particular emphasis on international matters. He has considerable experience representing foreign sovereign governments in United States courts and before international tribunals. His clients have been Latin American, African, Asian, and Middle Eastern nations involved in commercial disputes or controversies arising out of international law. Larry frequently represents foreign companies, including European and Asian corporations, in United States litigations and arbitrations. In addition to handling international disputes, he also represents domestic clients in federal and local courts throughout the U.S. Larry has extensive experience in insurance industry controversies, and frequently works on other matters ranging from product liability lawsuits to copyright litigation. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard University and his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College.
