Foley Hoag Represents Beacon Hospice in $125M Deal With Amedisys

Foley Hoag LLP congratulates Beacon Hospice on the June 7 closing of its sale to Amedisys Inc. for $125 million. Foley Hoag has previously served as outside counsel to Beacon Hospice for a number of years and represented Beacon Hospice in the transaction.
Headquartered in Charlestown, Mass., Beacon Hospice has 24 locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. The company is a leading provider of hospice care to terminally ill patients.
Amedisys, Inc. is based in Baton Rouge, La., and delivers personalized health care services to patients and their families, in the comfort of patients’ homes, with approximately 10 million patient care and education encounters per year. Amedisys has two divisions, home health care and hospice.
Foley Hoag partner Mark Haddad represented Beacon Hospice in the transaction, with support from others at the firm, including partners William Kolb, Nicola Lemay and Teresa Martland, and associates Jennifer Audeh, Pia Owens and Jason Steinman.
