Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Names Michael Keating a Lawyer of the Year
January 10, 2012
Michael Keating, chairman of Foley Hoag LLP’s Litigation Department, has been named a Lawyer of the Year for 2011 by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
“With 30 years under his belt as one of Boston’s leading trial attorneys, Michael B. Keating is no stranger to high-profile matters,” according to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. “But in the past year it seemed like the Foley Hoag attorney was everywhere, with his services in heavy demand by private clients and the judiciary alike.”
A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Michael has been one of Foley Hoag’s leading trial lawyers for more than 30 years. Consistently listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and Massachusetts Super Lawyers and recognized by The National Law Journal, he practices extensively in both the federal and state courts.
Michael has represented major corporate clients in diverse matters. He also has substantial experience in the arbitration and mediation of commercial disputes, both as counsel and as an arbitrator/mediator. He is a Past President of the Boston Bar Association and currently is the chair of the Board of The Boston Foundation.
In addition to his practice, Michael was appointed by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court to chair the search committee to recruit the Court Administrator for the Massachusetts Trial Court, a new leadership position created by recently enacted legislation. He also serves on the task force addressing hiring and promotion in the court system.
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly will honor Michael at its Leaders in the Law event on March 8 in Boston.
