Robert G. Sawyer
Robert Sawyer’s practice focuses on investment advisers and private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds, and small business investment companies. He assists advisers with registration and a range of regulatory compliance matters, and has significant experience in formation and structuring of management companies, as well as domestic and offshore investment funds, taking into account variances in investment strategies and desirable operational and tax results for managers. In addition, Robert’s financial counsel includes advising investment funds and other investors in various types of financing transactions, including private equity, venture capital and venture debt investments and mezzanine financing transactions.
In general corporate matters, Robert offers guidance to private companies in connection with their formation, capital raising activities, mergers and acquisitions, and other ongoing business issues. He also provides non-profit entities with legal advice on incorporation, and assistance with obtaining and maintaining their tax-exempt status.
