Rajesh (Raj) Vallabh is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He has over 18 years of experience as a registered U.S. patent attorney. With degrees in both electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, Raj’s practice involves patents in a wide range of technologies including computer software and hardware, telecommunications, computer networks, semiconductors, e-commerce, business methods, medical devices, and clean energy technologies.

Raj advises clients on developing and implementing U.S. and foreign patent strategies, including establishing invention disclosure programs and building patent portfolios. He has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. In addition, Raj performs risk assessment and design-around analysis for new products, and renders opinions on patent infringement and validity. He also evaluates IP assets in connection with transactions.

Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Raj was a patent attorney at law firms in Boston, New York, and Dallas. He also worked as an engineer before attending law school.
