Mark E. Young
Mark Young brings extensive experience in professional services marketing and in marketing and advertising law to his position as Foley Hoag’s Chief Marketing Officer. He works closely with senior firm management on the development of marketing strategy, is responsible for all aspects of strategy implementation, including integration with the business development function, and oversees the marketing staff and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Foley Hoag LLP, Mark served for five years as Communications Counsel/Director, Professional Services Practice of PARTNERS+simons, a Boston-based national marketing company. He directed the company’s professional services practice, providing strategic marketing counsel to Am Law 100 and 200 law firms throughout the country. Mark also managed all aspects of external affairs for PARTNERS+simons (including media, government and stakeholder relations), and served as its general counsel.
Mark formally entered professional services marketing after 15 years of practice in intellectual property, privacy, advertising, and marketing law with a national law firm. He served as the firm’s marketing partner and hiring partner, and founded both its IP/Technology Law Group and its privacy consulting affiliate. As part of his work Mark led an extensive state and federal court trial practice on behalf of a national client base that included public and private companies and not-for-profit organizations. He also served as Special Assistant District Attorney for Norfolk County, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
