  • Intellectual Property Litigation Associate

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Litigation group has an opening in our Boston office for a lawyer with a minimum of three years of experience representing biopharma manufacturers, research institutions and universities in patent and inventorship disputes before U.S. courts, in arbitral proceedings, in the International Trade Commission, and in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  A science degree is not required.

  • Technology Specialist - High Tech

    Foley Hoag’s Intellectual Property Department has an opening in our New York office for a Technology Specialist with a background in Computer Science. An M.S. or M.Eng. in Computer Science or a B.S. in Computer Science with relevant industry experience is preferred. Course work in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or applied mathematics is a plus.

    We seek applicants with strong academic credentials, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and up to three years of patent prosecution experience. Technical experience in the areas of machine learning, image analysis, cryptography, and software architecture would be particularly useful. A successful candidate who is not a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of being hired.

  • Case Assistant - Patent Prosecution

    The Boston office of Foley Hoag is seeking a case assistant to work with the firm’s Patent Prosecution group. Key responsibilities of the position include: assisting patent attorneys, patent agents and technology specialists with production, revision, and submission of a high volume of a range of required documents, such as Information Disclosure Statements, inventor declarations, assignments, and Power of Attorney forms; researching databases of patent assignments and other patent-related records; and preparing schedules of patent families and their bibliographic information.
