A fascinating exploration of what makes each face special — and how facial recognition affects personal interaction and our security.

Join AFTAU for wine, hors d'oeuvres, and a fascinating briefing from Prof. Galit Yovel of TAU and Visiting Professor at Rockefeller University.

Professor Galit Yovel

In 2005, Prof. Galit Yovel was recruited to the school of Psychological Sciences and the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University. Her area of expertise — encompassing the intriguing mystery of facial recognition — is the cognitive neuroscience of visual processing.

Her research group seeks to understand “how we all became experts at recognizing faces” by combining information from functional MRI, EEG, transcranial magnetic stimulation, eye tracking, and behavioral measures.

She completed her PhD at the University of Chicago, and did post-doctoral training at both Northwestern University and MIT.
