‘Intellectual Asset Management’ Magazine Ranks Foley Hoag in IAM Licensing 250 Survey
October 19, 2011
Intellectual Asset Management magazine ranked Foley Hoag LLP as one of the top firms in Massachusetts for licensing work on its inaugural “IAM Licensing 250 — The World’s Leading Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers” list.
IAM wrote that Foley Hoag’s Licensing and Strategic Alliances group offers clients a comprehensive skill set in the patent and technology arena, handling a variety of licensing and intellectual property transactions. The firm regularly advises clients on transactions in a broad range of technologies, including software, Internet, computer hardware, manufacturing, medical devices and biotechnology.
“The firm has retained some hugely talented lawyers,” wrote IAM, adding that a considerable number of practitioners focus primarily on licensing and other forms of IP monetization, which has helped set Foley Hoag apart from other firms. More than 25 lawyers devote a substantial portion of their practice to licensing and strategic alliance transactions.
The firm’s Intellectual Property practice is integrated with the Licensing and Strategic Alliances practice, providing clients with advice on how to best structure license agreements to protect and enhance existing intellectual property portfolios.
In addition to the firmwide ranking, IAM recognized partner Bruce Parker in the “Individuals - Recommended” category. IAM called Parker a “deep thinker with a strong legal and business mind” who “really adds value to the equation with his combination of licensing and antitrust expertise.”
