Janis Brennan Authors Article on Republic of Argentina v. BG Group PLC
April 26, 2012
Janis Brennan, a partner in Foley Hoag LLP’s International Litigation and Arbitration Practice, recently authored an article on a federal appeals court ruling that interpreted treaty provisions typically reserved for international arbitral tribunals.
The article, “Republic of Argentina v. BG Group PLC,” was published in the Fourth Quarter 2011 issue of News and Notes From the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. In the case, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia vacated a final arbitration award rendered under UNCITRAL Rules against Argentina and in favor of BG Group PLC, a British investor in Argentina, according to the article, which evaluates the ruling and looks at the case’s history.
