March 27, 2012
Foley Hoag LLP partner Mark Haddad has been named a winner of the 2012 M&A Advisor 40 Under 40 Awards.
The M&A Advisor 40 Under 40 Awards aim to promote mentorship and professional development among emerging business leaders. Mark, deputy chair of Foley Hoag’s Business Department, will be honored at the Third Annual 40 Under 40 M&A Advisor Awards Gala on May 3 in New York City.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Mark, a talented lawyer who is committed to providing clients with high-quality legal services and contributing to the firm’s success through his leadership and mentoring of others,” said William Kolb, Foley Hoag co-managing partner.
Mark has an extensive corporate practice for a client base that ranges from investment funds to startup and portfolio companies to large public companies, with work encompassing both transactional and governance issues. His transactional practice has particular emphasis on representing both buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.
He has extensive experience representing both strategic and financial buyers, as well as sellers, in M&A transactions. Recent M&A transactions that Mark has led include numerous acquisitions for Alere Inc., Beacon Hospice’s sale to Amedisys and Mill Road Capital’s go-private acquisition of Rubio’s Restaurants. Mark also advises public company clients regarding defensive measures, including the adoption of stockholder rights plans.
In addition to his M&A practice, Mark advises many venture-backed startup companies – primarily those in the clean-tech, high-tech and life sciences sectors – on corporate formation, venture capital financing and general corporate matters. He also represents private equity, venture capital and angel investors in portfolio investments, and public companies in their Securities and Exchange Commission and general corporate matters.
