Foley Hoag Attorney Baptiste Rigaudeau to Participate in Roundtable on Investment Arbitration in Africa

Foley Hoag LLP associate Baptiste Rigaudeau will participate in a roundtable discussion on international investment arbitration in Africa, taking place on January 25 in Paris, France. The event is hosted by the African Jurists’ International Network (RIJA), and is part of a series of roundtables organized by the organization aimed at shedding light on the particularities of the African legal context.
Rigaudeau’s panel, “What Reform for the International Investment Regime in Africa?,” will examine possible reforms and developments with respect to international investment in Africa. Overall topics of discussion will include developments regarding the legal framework applicable to the admission and treatment of international investment, and dispute resolution mechanisms applicable to international investments. Rigaudeau will focus on evolutions and new developments in international investment arbitration applicable to Africa.
As a member of Foley Hoag’s International Litigation and Arbitration Department, Rigaudeau concentrates his practice on international arbitration, with a focus on commercial and investor-State disputes. He has experience working either as Counsel or Secretary to international arbitration tribunals under ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, SCC, CIETAC, ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.
RIJA includes lawyers, practitioners and researchers from around the world, all with a common interest in Africa. The organization serves as a forum to network and exchange information on developments on legal news in Africa.
