DESCRIPTION

The senior market continues to explode demanding attention of the healthcare market. With fewer clinicians to care for the seniors, businesses are stepping forward with technology solutions to help seniors monitor and manage their health from their home whether it is in the community or on a senior living campus.

According to Forrester, the Healthcare Unbound market (i.e. "technologies away from formal institutions") for ADL/Elder technologies will surpass $1 billion in 2010. This represents opportunities for many different healthcare applications including Personal Emergency Response, Vitals Monitoring, Medication Management and Remote Home (sensor- based) Monitoring.

Healthcare technology companies are taking different paths to reach out to the senior market both from a segmentation and partnership perspective. Who will ultimately bring these products and services to the seniors (and their families), pay for them and support them on an ongoing basis?

Join us for the October 12th Lunch & Learn event, from the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council's Healthcare Cluster.

Learn how two companies are bringing healthcare technology to the senior market. Newton based Dovetail Health has a high touch services model which utilizes technology to support medication management and remote care monitoring. Masonicare is leading provider of healthcare and retirement living communities for seniors in Connecticut. They bring many different healthcare technologies to seniors throughout the care continuum from skilled nursing to independent living and living within community.

Our elder care technology innovators will discuss the:

  • New and evolving business and market models for the senior market,
  • Collaboration between the different players including the care providers, payers, technology providers and senior living campus staff for healthcare technology payment and delivery,
  • Lessons learned and success measurements from healthcare technology pilot programs.
