Michele Adelman Joins Foley Hoag as Counsel in Litigation Department and Business Crimes and Government Investigation Practice Group

Michele L. Adelman as Counsel to the firm's
Litigation Department and
Business Crimes and Government Investigations Practice Group.
Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Ms. Adelman was Deputy Chief of the Criminal Bureau at the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, where she prosecuted complex cases in the areas of corruption and economic crime. In that role, Ms. Adelman also led the grand jury investigation of the Boston Archdiocese relating to allegations of sexual abuse of children. Before the Attorney General's Office, from 1994 to 2002, Ms. Adelman served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, prosecuting cases in the areas of securities fraud, market manipulation, internet fraud and money laundering and serving as Deputy Chief of the Narcotics Unit.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Ms. Adelman was a Litigation associate specializing in securities fraud litigation at the New York Office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard J. Cardamone of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Ms. Adelman received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her Juris Doctorate from George Washington University, where she was an Editor of the Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif. She is an active member of the Boston Bar Association, Women's Bar Association and the Boston Club.
