Dr. Peter K. Sollins is a Registered Patent Attorney and an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. Dr. Sollins has prepared and prosecuted patent applications on medical devices, polymers, software and consumer products. He has been involved in several reexamination proceedings before the U.S.P.T.O. Dr. Sollins has also been involved in patent litigation in U.S. District Court and also at the International Trade Commission in fields such as electronics, medical diagnostics and paper manufacturing.

Dr. Sollins obtained his Ph.D. from the Harvard University Department of Astronomy under the supervision of Dr. Paul T. P. Ho and Dr. Qizhou Zhang. He studied the processes by which the most massive stars in the galaxy are formed, focusing on observations made with radio interferometers such as the Very Large Array in New Mexico, and the Sub-Millimeter Array on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. While a graduate student, he also assisted in testing and systems integration during the construction of the Sub-Millimeter Array. Before graduate school, Dr. Sollins was a high school teacher in Wynnewood, PA.
