Alex Aber counsels public and private companies on a broad range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, financings, technology licensing, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships and general legal matters. His advice to buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions includes the structuring of transactions, including cross-border transactions, and the negotiation and drafting of purchase agreements.

A particular client focus for Alex is on advising software, biotech and other emerging, technology-centric companies. He represents such clients, as well as companies that invest in and lend to them, in a wide array of venture capital and other equity transactions, credit facilities and corporate restructurings. In addition to this finance work, Alex negotiates and drafts IP-related agreements focused on software and patent licensing, technology development, international distribution, and outsourcing.

Alex’s technology counsel reflects strong practical experience. Before entering law school he worked as a technology research associate for Forrester Research, specializing in the areas of consumer e-commerce and entertainment.

Alex recently completed a secondment with The General Counsel’s Office of EMC Corporation in which he represented EMC in various public and private company acquisitions and strategic investments.
