Foley Hoag Broadens Litigation and Arbitration Practice in Paris with Arrival of Andrea Pinna as Partner

October 4, 2018

Attorney Andrea Pinna has joined Foley Hoag AARPI in Paris as a partner and member of the International Litigation & Arbitration Department. He will help lead the International Litigation & Arbitration practice in the Paris office.

Pinna focuses primarily on representing States and French and foreign companies in commercial and investment arbitration. He assists clients before the French courts in arbitration-related disputes including appeals against arbitral awards and their enforcement, and has considerable experience in sovereign immunities.

"As one of the top international commercial and investment arbitration attorneys in Europe, Andrea is an ideal person to help lead our International Litigation & Arbitration practice in Paris," said Paul Reichler, the Washington, D.C.-based chair of Foley Hoag's International Litigation & Arbitration Department. "Andrea has an outstanding record of accomplishment in more than 50 arbitration proceedings, and before the French courts. His leadership and experience will greatly benefit our entire team in Paris and, above all, our clients."

Pinna is member of the Comité Français de l’Arbitrage (CFA), the Association Suisse de l’Arbitrage (ASA) and the International Arbitration Institute (IAI) and a member of the editorial board of the Paris Journal of International Arbitration. He regularly teaches international commercial law and arbitration law at universities in France and abroad.

“I am delighted to join Foley Hoag," Pinna said. "The firm combines an internationally recognized practice in arbitration and international disputes with highly integrated teams that work together seamlessly.”

Pinna obtained a Master's, a degree in advanced studies (DEA) and a PhD from Université Paris II and a Ph.D. from the University of Tilburg (Netherlands). Before joining Foley Hoag, he worked at the law firm of De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés in Paris. He is a member of the Paris bar.

Pinna will be joined by associates Anne-Fleur Dory and Hortense Fouchard, also from De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés.
