Foley Hoag Expands Advertising & Marketing Practice in New York With Addition of August Horvath as Partner

Noted advertising and antitrust attorney August Horvath has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department and Co-Chair of the Advertising & Marketing practice group. He is resident in the firm’s New York office.

Horvath's practice focuses on representing clients in private false advertising and deceptive practices litigation before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), state Attorneys General and the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. His antitrust experience includes litigating civil and criminal cases with the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, FTC investigations, litigation related to mergers and acquisitions, and private litigation.

Throughout his career that spans 20 years, Horvath has represented companies in the food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, retailing, sporting and consumer goods industries, as well as online Internet services.

Horvath was previously a partner in the New York office of Kelley Drye & Warren. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Windsor, a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Theory and Research from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.
