Foley Hoag LLP announced that partner Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo has been named Managing Partner of the firm's Paris office. In this capacity, she will work with Paris personnel, firm-wide Department Chairs and the Executive Committee to manage the Paris office and continue its growth and development.

Foley Hoag's Paris office is a leader in the market in international litigation, arbitration, environmental law, and mergers and acquisitions.

As Managing Partner, Paraguacuto-Mahéo’s objectives include expanding the firm's International Litigation & Arbitration practice in Paris, which is already a leader in international law and in investment arbitration.

“I am honored to assume the role of Managing Partner," said Paraguacuto-Mahéo. "Our Paris office consists of many talented legal and business services professionals, and with their help, we will continue to meet the evolving needs of the firm's clients.”

“I believe that Foley Hoag’s multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-jurisdictional team in Paris is well positioned to expand the firm’s commercial arbitration and construction related work in Europe and beyond, notably in the green energy sector,” she continued.

Paraguacuto-Mahéo also aims to grow the office’s representation of sovereigns in Europe and in the Francophone world. Aware of the great challenges that many are facing, she also intends to increase the office’s commitment to the community and pro bono projects, with a particular focus on climate change issues, an area in which the office has distinguished itself for many years.

Paraguacuto-Mahéo joined Foley Hoag in November 2018. She specializes in international arbitration and litigation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and sovereign representation.

Paraguacuto-Mahéo is a court member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC where she scrutinizes hundreds of awards from all over the world. She is co-chair of the Task Force on Emergency Arbitrator Proceedings of the ICC International Commission and President of the Global Pound Conference in Paris, as well as an adjunct professor at Sciences Po Paris and at the University Paris II Pathéon Assas.
