The DOJ’s new Data Security Program—sometimes referred to as the “Bulk Data Rule”—is a complex regulation that can create regulatory and compliance headaches for businesses, particularly those unaware of its implications. The regulation restricts or tightly controls the transfer of U.S. sensitive personal data or U.S. government-related personal data to particular “countries of concern” or “covered persons.”
The regulation went into effect in April of this year, with final compliance requirements taking effect on October 6. Please join Foley Hoag and FTI Consulting for a webinar on October 9 as we discuss the following:
- What does the Data Security Program require?
- Which industries and organizations are affected, and which are exempt?
- What are the risks of non-compliance?
- How can organizations effectively organize compliance with the new regulation?
