California Was Warned of Shocking Hospice Fraud. Inaction Allowed Problems to Persist.

Edo Banach, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Healthcare Department, commented in a Los Angeles Times article covering fraud in the hospice industry in California.

In the article, which outlines ongoing the ongoing political conflict between state and federal officials to stop hospice fraud, Banach noted that both have an important role in stopping fraud: “the federal government, despite going after providers in California, has a role in determining whether entities can bill Medicare to begin with. So it's not just the state. It is everybody's problem.”
