Foley Hoag LLP is pleased to announce that four of its attorneys will participate in diversity programs and events hosted by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) beginning in March, 2023. Partner Allison Anderson will participate in the LCLD Fellows Program, and associates Christian Garcia and Alexander Somodevilla will participate in the Pathfinder Program, both of which run from March to October. The Fellows program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed for top-performing lawyers (with a minimum of 8 years of practice) from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the legal industry. The program provides Fellows with professional and personal development opportunities, leadership training, relationship-building opportunities and access to LCLD Members (managing partners and general counsel.)
The Pathfinder program is a professional development program designed to train diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys from historically underrepresented backgrounds on foundational leadership and relationship-building. The program provides practical tools for developing internal professional networks, foundational leadership skills and career development strategies.
“We are thrilled to be sending Allison, Christian and Alexander to the Fellows and Pathfinders programs, and for our Managing Partner Jim Bucking to be participating in the LCLD’s inaugural Super Pledge Summit,” said Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Rosa Nuñez. “As one of Foley Hoag’s core principles, we are committed to increasing diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession.”
LCLD Board Member Carlos Brown, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel of Dominion Energy Inc. will host The Super Pledge Summit: “Exploring Succession Planning with Dominion Energy.” The event, reserved for Managing Partners of law firms and General Counsel of corporations, will include discussion on developing a deep bench of diverse talent through succession planning.
LCLD is an organization comprised of over 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. LCLD programs are designed to help a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership.
