Foley Hoag Partners Erica Rice and Samita Ali-Khan Named Top Women in Dealmaking
March 31, 2023
Foley Hoag LLP announced partners Samita Ali-Khan and Erica Rice have been named to The Deal’s 2023 Top “Women in Dealmaking” list. This list identifies women who have displayed excellence in their respective legal fields including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructuring and activist investing. Ali-Khan was named in the M&A and Private Equity categories while Rice was recognized in M&A.
Nominated by their peers, the Top Women in Dealmaking honorees were selected based on months of research to identify prominent women in the legal profession who display excellence in their fields and affect the dealmaking community by advising on the most important transactions over the prior year. The Deal, a leading M&A publication in the US, also looked to identify the women excelling in mentorship, thought leadership and the advancement of gender diversity.
Ali-Khan primarily represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors and investment banks in a variety of registered and exempt equity and debt transactions in the capital markets across the U.S., Europe and Asia. She also counsels her clients on compliance and reporting, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and other finance transactions, both domestically and internationally.
Rice is a co-chair of Foley Hoag's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. Her practice is focused on representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions, as well as counseling emerging growth companies regarding entity formation, founder’s arrangements, financings, exit strategies and general corporate governance. Rice has a particular focus on the cannabis, life sciences and technology industries. Clients include both public and private companies as well as venture capital investors.
