Foley Hoag LLP shared that the firm has received two recognitions in recent months for its dedication to pro bono. The firm and its attorneys were recognized by the American Lawyer 2024 Pro Bono Report and The New York State Bar Association’s Empire State Counsel® Program.

The 2024 Pro Bono Report – which chronicles 2023 law firm pro bono hours. This score is based 50% on average pro bono hours per attorney and 50% from the percentage of attorneys performing 20 or more hours. The firm’s score improved by 20 points compared to 2022, as the firm continues to encourage attorney participation in pro bono.
The New York State Bar Association’s Empire State Counsel® Program also recently honored several attorneys from Foley Hoag’s New York office for performing 50 or more hours of pro bono legal services either through direct representation of a low-income/vulnerable individual or through donation of legal services to organizations that serve vulnerable and/or low-income populations.
Those recognized include Samita Ali-Khan, Nicholas Bergara, James Gross, Christina Hioureas, Ben Kalman, Sarah Main, Tafadzwa Pasipanodya, Nicholas Renzler, Noah Shaw, Benjamin Weissman and Lisa Wood. The attorneys recognized worked on a variety of pro bono matters related to causes including, human rights, immigration/political asylum, reproductive rights, and more.
