Foley Hoag Expands Life Sciences Patent Management and Biologics Capabilities in New York with Amy Gallup Klann as Counsel

Amy Gallup Klann has joined Foley Hoag LLP as Counsel in the Intellectual Property Department. She is a member of the Patent Prosecution, Strategy & Management practice, and also the PTAB Proceedings practice. Klann is resident in the firm’s New York office.
Klann focuses on strategic patent portfolio development and management for companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. She develops IP strategies and patent portfolios (offensive and defensive) such as those developing gene editing treatments and cell therapies, antibodies, and those in the single cell sequencing space.
Klann counsels clients at all stages of the business life cycle, from emerging companies building foundational IP portfolios to established market leaders safeguarding and leveraging their innovations globally.

Prior to joining Foley Hoag, Klann was Counsel in the New York office of Fenwick & West. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Virginia Wesleyan College; a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Baylor College of Medicine; and a Juris Doctorate from University of Houston Law Center.
