Yasmin Al Ameen Named a Law360 2026 International Arbitration Rising Star

August 18, 2026

International Litigation and Arbitration Senior Associate Yasmin Al Ameen has been selected as one of Law360’s Rising Stars. The annual awards recognize individuals under 40 for exceptional accomplishments and leadership that place them among the legal profession’s most promising talent. Al Ameen was one of just three attorneys selected in the International Arbitration category.

The Law360 profile on Al Ameen highlights some of her proudest accomplishments, which include serving as a key member of the Foley Hoag team representing The Gambia before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in a historic case against Myanmar under the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, on which she has worked since 2019. At the January 2026 merits hearing, Al Ameen argued before the Court, becoming one of the ICJ’s youngest-ever advocates.

She also shared that what continues to motivate her is seeing public international law and human rights work translate into tangible outcomes for the people and States she represents. “I think what drew me into this practice, and maybe what’s kept me in this practice, is that it sits at the intersection of law, diplomacy and real human consequences,” she told the publication.

In addition to her work on the Gambia case, Al Ameen is the lead associate on the Foley Hoag team representing Qatar in various arbitrations and a core member of the team representing Armenia against Azerbaijan before the ICJ, which has secured multiple rulings in Armenia’s favor since 2021.
