A Foley Hoag team advised client Boston Children's Hospital on the drafting and passage of the Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act (AKACA), a landmark bipartisan piece of legislation recently signed into law by President Trump that simplifies the process by which a health care provider can enroll in another state’s Medicaid program.
AKACA represents a transformative advancement for pediatric healthcare in America, expanding access to care for millions of children nationwide by reducing hurdles for pediatric patients to obtain out-of-state specialty care, while also reducing the requirements for out-of-state providers to treat patients.
