Foley Hoag is pleased to announce that Lauren Carboni has joined the firm as a partner in the Healthcare Department, based in the Denver office. Carboni brings more than a decade of experience in healthcare law and strengthens the firm’s ability to serve clients across the Rocky Mountain region.
Carboni advises healthcare providers, hospitals, physician groups, and behavioral health organizations on complex regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse matters, and government enforcement actions. She has experience with False Claims Act litigation, internal investigations, regulatory risk assessments, healthcare due diligence on transactions, and administrative appeals before federal and state agencies.
She also counsels clients in the regulated psychedelics and cannabis sectors on licensing, compliance, and business operations.
"I am excited to welcome Lauren to the firm," said Healthcare Department Co-Chair Edo Banach. "Her roots in the region and expertise in emerging areas of healthcare law, such as psychedelic medicine and cannabis regulation, will allow us to adapt to the rapidly-shifting healthcare landscape and better serve our clients in Colorado and nationwide."
Carboni joins the firm’s Denver office just one week after Chief Growth and Legal Recruitment Officer Jenny Davenport. She is the fourth partner to join the Denver office in just over a year, following Melanie Bartlett, Matt Jonsen and Brooke Fritz. The firm recently relocated to a new office in LoDo Towers.
“Lauren's arrival reflects the continued momentum in our Denver office," said Rose Standifer, partner-in-charge of the Denver office. "Her arrival expands our capabilities in this market, and clients across the region will benefit from her experience."
"Foley Hoag’s nationally recognized healthcare practice makes this the ideal platform for my practice,” Carboni said. “I look forward to working alongside my new colleagues to support healthcare providers in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape."
Carboni maintains an active membership with the Psychedelic Bar Association, where she serves as co-steward of the Legalization and Regulation Committee, as well as the American Health Lawyers Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.
She previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ross Buchanan of the Denver District Court. She earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.S. from Saint Joseph's University.
