I help lenders, borrowers, sponsors and private investment funds structure, negotiate and execute sophisticated debt financing transactions.

Anna Dodson is co-chair of Foley Hoag's Debt Finance Practice and widely recognized for her experience in sophisticated financing transactions. She advises sponsors, borrowers, lenders, private equity funds, credit funds and other non-bank lenders on complex debt financing transactions across the capital structure, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, restructurings and structured financings. 


Anna structures and negotiates debt finance transactions for clients across a broad range of industries and asset classes. Her practice includes advising on subscription-backed, NAV and asset-backed liquidity facilities, warehouse facilities, leverage facilities and securitizations. She regularly counsels private equity sponsors, institutional investors, portfolio companies, banks, finance companies and alternative capital providers on financing, liquidity and capital structure matters. 

Anna has significant experience advising clients in workouts, special situations, and out-of-court restructurings. Her representations include distressed and special situation lenders, as well as sellers of and investors in distressed financial assets.

  • Counsels private equity funds, credit funds, opportunity funds, and other non-bank lenders in structuring leverage and liquidity solutions, including subscription-backed, NAV, and asset-backed facilities.
  • Represents institutional investors, portfolio companies, banks, and finance companies in workout situations and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Advises distressed and special situation lenders, as well as purchasers and sellers of distressed financial assets.
